Fellow Christians,

 

As a believer, to receive the Holy Spirit is the ultimate gift

once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. When

you experience the Holy Spirit moving through you and

speaking with authority and anointing, it’s a feeling you’ll

never forget. Throughout Acts 2:1-4, the day of Pentecost was a sight to witness and the lives of those affected would be changed forever. As the fire of the Holy Spirit rested upon them, a shift took place around them and within them. As they began to speak in tongues gifted by the Holy Spirit, this would now alter the trajectory of their spiritual relationship with Christ. They would go on to teach with authority and boldness bringing glory to the kingdom of God. 

 

Now imagine if they had been unwilling to “wait” for God’s timing and his power to make way for Pentecost. Things would have looked drastically different and missions wouldn’t have been completed according to God’s plan. As children of God, we must understand that our waiting and patience is necessary for ministry. The goal isn’t about or for us but ultimately, it’s for God’s word to be fulfilled. The Holy Spirit is a promised gift to all believers, and we must accept it as such. We must keep in mind gifts also come with duty and responsibility.

Along our journey, we are expected to direct and lead others to Christ. Regardless of how our past may have looked, God has the ability to use us and our gifts in ways to reach thousands. For example, Peter denied Jesus three times yet still went on to teach and preach boldly in front of 3,000 people. God’s intentions and plans for you cannot be limited and remember the spirit of God destroys barriers and fosters love. There is nothing too great or small for our God. Although Pentecost released a fire and marked a turning point for the church, it also serves as a reminder that we cannot live a spirit-filled life without the Holy Spirit. 



Fellow believers, don’t forget that what’s on the inside of you will always show up on the outside. Acts 1 is a perfect demonstration of unity and being on one accord for the uplifting of God’s kingdom. Thus, allow this to be your daily reminder to not lose focus of your purpose and utilize your gifts to spread the word of God. When you allow the Holy Spirit to have its way in you, God will put all the puzzle pieces in order. Therefore, we must learn to wait on God to fill us and empower us so that we are prepared to impact our home, church, community and this world!
